Typing Test – High Courts
Two cases where the candidates to a Government job selection process approached the High Court on issues arising from typing test:
Arvind Kumar Vishwakarma v. State Of U.P., WRIT A No.19017 of 2008, High Court of Allahabad (21.05.2015): The candidates/petitioners had been allegedly supplied non-functional typewriters during typing test. The Allahabad High Court directed the State to consider their representations in this regard.
Vinit Kumar v. Registrar General, High Court Of Judicature at Allahabad, WRIT – A No. – 29665 of 2015: The candidates/petitioners had been supplied a computer keyboard with a different layout (compatible with Mangal font) than what was usually used in Court typing work (compatible with Kruti Dev font). By order dated 21.05.2015, the Allahabad High Court directed withholding the declaration of result of the petitioners and giving them liberty to appear in the examination till further orders.
